Why did I choose my career?
Since my first years of life I knew that I was passionate about both learning and teaching. I admired each and every one of my teachers, and I wished I could one day become like them. Already a little older, after having reflected more, I came to the conclusion that in addition to wanting to be an educator, I longed to be able to work with young children, and to be able to give them the best of myself, for which I decided definitively for study pedagogy in preschool education.
But before making this decision definitively, I hesitated a bit between two careers: special education or kindergarten education. I ended up deciding on pedagogy in kindergarten education, however, I don’t rule out, in the future, studying special education and complementing it with what I am currently studying. I finally decided this by focusing on the age range of the children I want to work with and my career field of work.
So far, my experience in college has been wonderful. Every day that passes I fall more in love with my career and with everything that I learn along the way, despite taking very little yet. The only thing that would change of my experience as a university student would be to be able to study in person, but at least I have the relief that I still have a long way to go and, therefore, a lot of time to live that experience.
Although pedagogy in preschool education has a fairly wide field of work, I would love to work in kindergartens where there are children at social risk or in a CESFAM, in order to be a contribution both for the children and for the entire community.
